Featuring more than 20 of Queen’s greatest hits – including We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, Don’t Stop Me Now, and Under Pressure – the six performances of We Will Rock You are sure to entertain crowds of all ages.

The musical champions music and lyrics by the world-famous band, reimagined with an entertaining story and script by established playwright Ben Elton (Blackadder, The Young Ones). In the musical’s dystopian setting, rock music is unheard and all musical instruments are banned. The hope of Breaking Free rests with an unlikely resistance: an alliance of rebel Bohemians. Audiences will follow young rebels Galileo and Scaramouche as they risk everything to rediscover rock and the power it holds.

Auditions took place locally in October of last year, with the cast announced in November. This was a chance for Toowoomba talent to take centre stage, whether it be through dancing, acting, or singing. It’s also allowed backstage crew – such as lighting and costume design – to gain hands-on practice and develop their skills.

By supporting this production, attendees will not only be supporting the local up-and-coming artists and crew, but also surrounding venues and accomodation – we recommend making a night of it by booking a table for dinner, and inviting friends from out of town to witness the talent for themselves.

And announced this week, The Empire Theatre is offering a limited number of ‘Access Tickets’, on sale now: utilising the back rows of the spectacular auditorium, these ticket holders will enjoy the same sight and sound of the award-winning musical for a discounted price of $27.

The first awe-inspiring show is this Friday, 18 March at 7.30pm. Check out our calendar for all six show dates and times. You can secure your seat for one of the six shows via The Empire Theatre’s website – but be quick!
