For reasons unknown to us, Metiisto Craft Chocolate seems to be one of Toowoomba’s best-kept secrets.

‘Best’ – well, because it’s amazing. ‘Secrets’ – well, we don’t know why, but we’re forever talking to people who don’t yet know that nestled into the back of Harristown is Australia’s most awarded craft chocolate manufacturer.

This year, Metiisto will celebrate its 11th anniversary, having already won a slew of international gold medals and been named Best Australian Chocolate Product and Best Australian Small Food Producer. With over 50 awards in total and 2022 seeing two of their chocolates receiving the highest accreditation possible in the international food and drink Great Taste Awards, the ratings mark Metiisto as one of the top-tier makers in Australia and across the world.

As well as their factory shopfront in Harristown, you can find Metiisto chocolate at Myrtelle, My Little Blueberry, Wendlands Fine Foods, The Store Room and The Cobb & Co, amongst others.

Having just released their limited-run Easter range of eggs and bunnies across three types of chocolate (65%, organic dark; 43%, old-school milk & 37% white “graddie”), many of which are also gluten-free. Our suggestion - run, don’t walk.
