Stepping Stones: First Nations Artworks from the City Collection

SIXTY: The Journal of Australian Ceramics 60th Anniversary 1962-2022
SIXTY: The Journal of Australian Ceramics 60th Anniversary 1962–2022 is a special Australian Design Centre On Tour exhibition project presented in partnership with The Australian Ceramics Association to acknowledge this significant anniversary.
This major exhibition will showcase the work of twenty-two acclaimed ceramic artists from across Australia, including Toowoomba’s own Dan Elborne, and other previous exhibitors such as Pippin Drysdale, Vipoo Srivilasa and Greg Daly.

Contemporary Wearables Biennial Jewellery Award and Exhibition
Contemporary Wearables Biennial Jewellery Award and Exhibition is the focus of Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery's contribution to promoting excellence in contemporary adornment. The award was established in 1989, with the aid of the Toowoomba Gallery Society Inc., and is a forum for experimental and innovative contemporary jewellery and object practice. On display until 23 November 2025.

Colourways – AJ Gogas & Barbara Stephenson
Colourways is a thought-provoking collaboration between painter AJ Gogas and textile artist Barbara Stephenson combining their shared love of colour and movement.

Pop'd Impressions Art Exhibition
A vibrant, two-week art exhibition celebrating impressions of our region as interpreted by our local Toowoomba and Darling Downs artists. Runs from the 13th September – 27th September. Open 10-3pm everyday, including weekends. Opening night event (ticketed – limited spots) Friday Night 12th September 6-8 pm.

Exhibition | Brushes of Sunlight: Oils from the Lindsay Collection
The Lindsay Collection was established by William and Marion Bolton in Toowoomba in the 1950s. It was officially opened by Prime Minister Robert Menzies in 1959 and has been housed at Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery since 1994.
Guided by the collection’s namesake Sir Lionel Lindsay and his brother Sir Daryl Lindsay, the Boltons acquired works by ‘Masters of Australian painting’ (Bill Bolton letter to Sir Lionel, 1 July 1957). The Lindsays were eminent artists and Sir Daryl was Director of the National Gallery of Victoria 1941-1956.

Exhibition | Artisan Jewels - Sharon Forbes
Local artist Sharon Forbes presents an exhibition celebrating the allure of contemporary handcrafted jewellery as a form of artistic expression. Sharon repurposes precious metals, stones and Australian timbers into unique designs that transcend mere adornment to become wearable art.

Exhibition | I Love Goombungee!
I Love Goombungee! celebrates the unique character and charm of the Goombungee area, and features works from artists across the Region that capture the essence of this special town. From photography to landscapes and textiles, it invites visitors to discover quiet laneways and the residents who live there, the purple haze of Jacaranda-lined streets, and the deep connection to local places and spaces that reminds us to relish the moment.

Little Darlings
Marilyn Murray presents Little Darlings, which references the size of the paintings and subject matter, the Darling Downs. The miniature artworks, measuring just 8.9 x 6.4cm, will jog memories and evoke emotional ties to the Region.
Part of Marilyn’s “Meeting History in Miniature” series, these intricate works of art showcase the beauty of the Darling Downs region and feature old churches, community halls and pubs.

Exhibition | Where I Find Peace - Borderline Regional Arts Association
Borderline Regional Arts Association presents a collection of paintings, mixed media works and sculptures by artists straddling the border communities around Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, Texas and Warwick, with a common expression of ‘where we find peace’ demonstrating that, regardless of individual circumstances, peace can be sought, found, and cherished by the curious seeker.

Carnival Queens
To celebrate Toowoomba Carnival of Flower’s 75th anniversary, this exhibition brings together artworks by local artists that respond to the theme ‘Carnival Queens’. It blends contemporary art with Carnival’s rich history.
