Women of Strength Turns 10 with Taryn Brumfitt

The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s much-loved evening celebrates a decade with cocktails, canapés and an inspiring keynote from the 2023 Australian of the Year.

Updated October 2026

Ok, real talk. When was the last time you did something just for you? Not the school run, not the work drinks you couldn’t get out of. Something actually for you (We thought so).

Lucky for you, Women of Strength is turning 10, and it’s throwing a party you don’t want to miss.

On Saturday 7 November, the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation takes over the Oaks Hotel for its big night of the year. Leading the evening is Taryn Brumfitt, 2023 Australian of the Year and the woman behind the Body Image Movement. If you’ve seen her documentary Embrace, you’ll know she has a knack for helping people look at themselves a little more kindly. Frankly, we could all use the reminder.

Here’s what you’re in for: cocktails, gourmet canapés, a room full of good people and genuine, heartfelt chats. You’ll also take home an exclusive event keepsake AND a luxury gift bag. Yep, freebies. You’ll walk out uplifted, motivated and feeling like the main character.

And it’s all for a very good cause. Every ticket supports the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s Regional Cancer Centre appeal. The Foundation backs 30 hospitals and health facilities across the Darling Downs, so locals can get the care they need closer to home. A great night out that also gives back? We’ll raise a glass to that.

Tickets close soon. Clear your calendar, find your favourite frock and put yourself on the list. Seriously, do it now.
