Whether you’re looking for a weekend brunch or a quick caffeine hit on a Monday morning, Ground Up is a local favourite for a reason. Not everyone would have seen this amount of potential in an old storeroom. But three roommates did, and created a café that transformed Toowoomba's coffee scene forever.
Decked out with recycled furniture in a First Coat-visited laneway, Ground Up is often described as 'Melbourne-style'. But the tag takes away from the Toowoomba-style hospitality, the local produce and the great baristas. Ground Up Espresso Bar is very much a testament to the imagination and resourcefulness of Toowoomba.
Serving Blackboard Coffee beans and pastries from sister café, The Baker’s Duck, this is a popular place to bring out of town guests for a weekend brunch to prove, once and for all, that Toowoomba is cool too.
