Egyptian cuisine may not be the most obvious dinner suggestion, but it probably will be after a night at El Attar. It’s the wafting smell of spices that you’ll notice first – followed closely by the bright red décor and slightly mysterious hookah pipes out the front. But the unassuming location that you’ve driven past 100 times hides the talent of this chef, who trained in both London and Egypt.

Enjoy authentic dishes such as falafel, shish kebabs and baklava, or delve into the extensive menu for some dishes you’ll be less familiar with. The large menu accommodates everyone, with plenty of vegan, vegetarian and GF options. It’s a restaurant that’s equally as fun for date night or for a big group of friends, and always seems to keep everyone happy.

It’s BYO in terms of alcohol, but Egyptian tea and coffee are included. And the most exciting thing is that El Attar offers both takeaway and delivery!
