On the corner of Mary and Margaret Streets sits Sage & Butler, a neighbourhood café punching well above its weight. The well-trained baristas serve up Single O coffee – the only place in Toowoomba to do so – alongside a simple breakfast menu, with plenty of simple grab-and-go options, from muffins and croissants to doughnuts and cakes. Lunch options include wraps, sandwiches, salads, soups and hot dishes, like a homemade lasagne.

There’s plenty of dog-friendly seating outside, as well as a couple of tables inside. Grab a coffee to go – along with a doughnut, of course – and wander down to Queens Park for an easy morning out. There’s street parking out the front, as well as a carpark out the back. Just be conscious of Grammar’s sports days, when there’s no parking for blocks!
