a heritage-listed gem by the original railway station
For over a century, there have been refreshment rooms at the Toowoomba Railway Station.
Travellers would stop for a cup of tea and a sandwich as they waited. After a complete refurbishment to bring the rooms into the 21st Century, the Encores group launched Inbound. Lunch is kept quite simple — think club sandwiches — while the dinner menu is more broad. There’s also a bar menu for those in-between hours, and a high tea menu for the special ones.
The state-listed heritage building is exactly where you’d take your mother for high tea, your darling for a cheese platter by the fire, or your friends to celebrate an engagement.
Keep an eye out for events here — a long lunch or warm Summer night dining on the original platform is a truly special experience. Either way, it’s best to make a reservation ahead of time, as the venue is sometimes booked out for functions.
