ABOUT / The latest arrival on the city’s after-dark scene, Tonic Bar & Lounge, comes from the team behind Cork & Lever - and it’s already adding a fresh new layer of style and energy. Taking over the space that once housed 4 Brothers Brewing, this sleek lounge blends laidback vibes with elevated drinks, delicious eats, and just the right amount of late-night buzz. The result? It’s equal parts social and stylish - the kind of place where you can sip, snack, and still hold a conversation.

DESIGN / Inside, the feel is intimate and unpretentious, with exposed timber beams, olive-green booth seating, and a glittering disco ball overhead (a sure sign of a good night ahead). Soft lighting, dark walls and low tables set the tone - it’s moody, but never too serious. Whether you’re posted up in a booth or catching up with friends over a round of drinks, it’s the kind of place that encourages lingering.

FOOD & DRINKS / The menu leans into comfort classics - pizzas, loaded fries and more - done well. Must-trys? The Honey Pepperoni Pizza hits all the right sweet-salty notes, and the handmade Meatballs are rich, hearty, and perfect for sharing. The drinks list covers all bases, with a thoughtful cocktail selection, approachable wines by the glass, and a range of familiar beers to keep things easy. Espresso martinis are practically a staple here, but if you’re in the mood for something more classic, the bartenders are more than happy to oblige.

ATMOSPHERE / There’s live music and DJ sets - but not the shout-over-your-friends kind. Tonic keeps things deliberately dialled-in, creating a space where the energy builds naturally - with music you can feel and conversation you can still follow. Whether you’re out for a chilled catch-up or sliding into weekend mode, this one’s got range.
