Welcome to arguably the month in beautiful Toowoomba!

Pulled from our constantly updated events calendar as well as some of our personal recommendations, we hope this list will encourage you to put some plans in place and support local events and businesses – and stop missing out!

see why bell shakespeare company is considered a world leader

Sydney-based Bell Shakespeare Company is touring the country with their rendition of Much Ado About Nothing. See why these guys are considered to be some of the best actors in the world with this saucy, razor-sharp play. We are so lucky to have a venue like the Empire Theatre to showcase this sort of work. If you’re more into music than theatre, Postmodern Jukebox’s Australian tour is another must-see.

watch vintage films, eat delicious popcorn

Bar Wunder have teamed up with Ric’s Flicks to show Funny Face in the main bar area. With free popcorn, the best mulled wine we’ve ever tasted, and snacks a plenty, hump day has never been easier to get through. You may also feel like watching the new Downton Abbey film in support of Hope Horizons.

enjoy a long, leisurely lunch in the sunshine

Emeraude is catering an al fresco lunch that showcases the best of this region’s produce. If that sentence isn’t enough to get you excited, then you’re just not paying attention. The Qantas Gala Dinner — which officially kicks off Carnival — is another spectacular evening of local food and wine.

sip & shop your way around the city

This fun and immersive guided shopping tour will showcase 12 fantastic local businesses in the CBD. Guests will be treated to  exclusive store offers, drinks and nibbles, a tote bag full of discounts and goodies.

save up now for the food & wine Festival

Obviously we didn’t forget Carnival. Save up money in your wallet, room in your belly, and moves in your grooves for this annual celebration of music, gardens, produce and Queensland wines. It’s popular for a reason, friends.

find a hat for spring polo

The city’s most stylish flock to the annual Spring Polo for the company, the drinks and, we suppose, the match itself. Some of the areas have already sold out, so get in quick!

come and hang out with us!

We’re into our sixth month of CreativeMornings/Toowoomba, after five sell-outs. We’d love to see you there on Friday, 13 September (ooh, spooky!), so make sure you join the CreativeMornings newsletter to receive your registration link.
