ABOUT / Nestled into the picturesque Lilyvale countryside (25 min from Toowoomba and 10 min from Highfields) Rosalie House Cellar Door and Restuarant is the perfect Summer destination for wine enthusiasts, those looking for an idyllic country getaway, or seeking a leisurely but sophisticated dining experience.

The vineyard was hand-planted in 2005 by Doyle and Vicki Thompson, with their three daughters, Renee, Teshla and Emily, before opening as a Cellar Door and Restaurant in 2018, and is a product of their passion for wine, food and the amazing produce of the local Lillyvale area.

VIBE / Rosalie House is all about blending the old with the new. Think: an Instagram-worthy winery where rustic meets contemporary. The atmosphere is relaxed, boasting stylish country interiors that contrast beautifully with the lush, green vines, and inviting lawns for vistors to sit and enjoy the sunset. It's a place where you can snap the perfect picture, wine glass in hand, against a backdrop of breathtaking vineyards and rolling hills.

FOOD / The restaurant features a creative yet elevated comfort-food menu, with a focus on fresh, local produce and seasonal flavours (Duck Maryland, Braised Lamb, Saffron Risotto etc.), as well as a more relaxed grazing, cheese and charcuterie board menu for enjoying amougst the grounds.

DRINK / At the heart of Rosalie are its handcrafted wines, producing between 6,000 - 8,000 bottles of Sparkling Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Rose & Moscato annually, all of which are available at the cellar door and restaurant to enjoy (by the bottle or glass) along with their recent Shiraz Gin (highly recommended), a collaboration with local Pechey Distillery, and over the summer months, a dangerously refreshing Frose.

For the wine lovers amongst us, each of their wines are characterized by their rich flavours and aromatic complexity, and reflect the winery's rich volcanic soil and the unique qualities of the region.

EVENTS / The vineyard hosts two major annual events, their Bud Burst Festival (September) celebrating the end of Winter and the launch of their newest wines,

and their annual Harvest Festival (February); expect wine-tasting events, a Charity Grape Stomp, decadent feasts, and the Grape Harvest.

On a weekly basis, Rosalie holds Sunset Sessions of a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon, with live music and a tapas and share plate menu available on the lawns, as well as regular food appreciation and themed specialty menu evenings.

Those looking for something a little boujee and unique, can also book in to Dine in the Vines, a private seasonal grazing dinner set amongst the vines with paired wines, a private tour of the vineyard, concierge table service, and transport home for those in the Toowoomba area.

STAY/ Recently opening their own boutique accommodation in the beautifully restored 100-year-old Queenslander, guests can now stay onsite (perfect for those really looking to really enjoy the wine list, a weekend getaway or visiting for events) and fully immerse themselves in the winery experience; waking up to stunning vineyard views and enjoying the relaxed rural setting.
