Welcome to another month in beautiful Toowoomba!

Pulled from our constantly updated events calendar as well as some of our personal recommendations, we hope this list will encourage you to put some plans in place and support local events and businesses – and stop missing out!

See Dangerous liaisons at the empire theatre

Based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ time-honoured novel, this sultry tale is set amongst the aristocratic elite of late 18th century France. With a story that has captivated audiences around the world for over 200 years, Queensland Ballet’s Dangerous Liaisons is a hedonistic tale of love, virtue and humanity. Maybe don’t bring the kids to this one…

watch Haruki Murakami come to life on the big screen

BURNING was the most acclaimed film of Cannes this year, setting a record for the highest-ever score in the prestigious critics’ poll. The Toowoomba Film Society has brought another magnificent film to town.

get your skates on at the winter wonderland

Civic Square will once again be transformed into an outdoor ice-skating rink this winter. Skates are included in your pass, and there’s also an ice slide for those a bit nervous on their feet.

get opinionated at bar wunder

Opinion Trivia is all about banter, not facts. They ask a bunch of crazy hypothetical questions and then chat with you and your buddies about what you think. Join them at Bar Wunder every Thursday night. There are bar vouchers, beer and tats to be won.

see amazing art + save yourself a plane ticket

Exhibition on Screen makes art exhibitions more accessible. This film journeys from the streets of Paris to the heart of a superb exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, whose extensive collection of Edgar Degas’ works is the most representative in Britain. There are three screenings of the film this month.
