Welcome to another month in beautiful Toowoomba!

Pulled from our constantly updated events calendar as well as some of our personal recommendations, we hope this list will encourage you to put some plans in place and support local events and businesses – and stop missing out!

Try the new Ravensbourne Markets

A beautiful drive up to Ravensbourne is always a good idea, but the new Ravensbourne Markets give another reason. With fresh, local produce, as well as arts and crafts, lovingly baked goods, plants and more, it’s sure to be a beautiful Sunday morning. Come home via lunch at Emeraude.

watch vintage films, eat delicious popcorn

Bar Wunder have teamed up with Ric’s Flicks to show Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest in the main bar area. With free popcorn, the best mulled wine we’ve ever tasted, and snacks a plenty, hump day has never been easier to get through.

get your skates on at the winter wonderland

Civic Square has once again been transformed into an outdoor ice-skating rink. Skates are included in your pass, and there’s also an ice slide for those a bit nervous on their feet. (Side note: we have dreams of a TFG mulled wine pop-up one year… hook us up with your connections Toowoomba).

celebrate bastille day

This annual commemoration of the storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution (the medieval armoury and fortress represented royal authority in the centre of Paris) is also a celebration of everything it is to be French. The Alliance de Française is hosting a party in town with wine, music and all the other great things in life.

support amazing local artists

Local artists Jon Vargas and Nathan Hass have long shared a love for heritage, vibrant colour and a flair for geometric abstraction. You’ll recognise their work on local murals – anyone who has sat outside at Ground Up will be familiar with Jon’s colourful work! Their duo exhibition opens this month at the new Dunmore Gallery.

get in the spirit

George Banks is hosting Toowoomba’s first spirit expo with plenty of tastings on offer – covering everything from whiskeys to tequilas to gins and more. Pick up a new tipple while you’re there, directly from the suppliers.

come and hang out with us!

We’re into our fourth month of CreativeMornings/Toowoomba, after three sell-outs. We’d love to see you there on Friday, 19 July, so make sure you join the CreativeMornings newsletter to receive your registration link.
