Welcome to another month in beautiful Toowoomba!

Pulled from our constantly updated events calendar as well as some of our personal recommendations, we hope this list will encourage you to put some plans in place and support local events and businesses – and stop missing out!

Try the new indoor markets

For every door that closes, another one opens. After the sudden close of the Mills Precinct markets, this new fortnightly market has sprung up. Officially opening mid-month, expect food stalls and jumping castles as well as live music and plenty of produce.

watch vintage films, eat delicious popcorn

Bar Wunder have teamed up with Ric’s Flicks to show Sunset Boulevard in the main bar area. With free popcorn, the best mulled wine we’ve ever tasted, and snacks a plenty, hump day has never been easier to get through.

support the base services

August is always host to National Homeless Week. BASE Services is once again hosting their annual breakfast. This year’s speakers are the 2016 Young Australians of the Year, Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett, founders of Orange Sky Laundry.

get some culture into you

The Empire Theatre is always hosting amazing shows, but this month look out for Yamato, the Japanese drummers. The drums weigh half a tonne, so in addition to the amazing music they produce, the drummers show remarkable physical strength and have a trademark infectious energy.

enjoy some bites & beats

This twilight market will once again pop-up at Blank Space with food stalls, live music and artisan products. There’s even a licensed bar, so bring your friends and make an evening of it.

celebrate Toowoomba’s diversity

The Languages & Culture Festival is an annual celebration of the diversity of our community. It brings together over a hundred community groups, service organisations, businesses and partners within the Toowoomba region to support and encourage a sense of belonging and community harmony in our area. With amazing performances, delicious food and activities for all ages, it’s always a fantastic day out.
