This hole-in-the-wall café – with comfy seating out the back – serves up Toby’s Estate coffee, smoothies, juices and snacks – but there’s also plenty more to the story. Established in 2016 by BASE Services, 2nd Shot provides hospitality training and employment opportunities to people experiencing homelessness.

The barista serving your coffee has a story you probably can’t imagine, and is working for their ‘second shot’ in life. Encounters and opportunities like these are how strong communities are built. The ambition and work ethic of the people behind 2nd Shot will give you goosebumps – they literally make you want to be a better person.

The café is also connected to Skip, an app that allows you to pre-order your coffee. Imagine a world where you order your coffee from your parking spot, and it’s ready for collection as you walk past on your way to work. Well, it’s here.
